Donald Trump is Bad for America. Here is Why.

Resistance to Trump is an American Value. Here is our philosophy as to why.

Donald Trump is bad for America, and all good Americans need to resist his efforts to damage our country.  He embarrass America on the world stage. He and his cronies utter continual falsehoods in our name, as they work to create an America where only a few rich people benefit.

Resist Trump!

Resist Trump!

We believe that Donald Trump benefited from Russian interference in the 2016 election, and, whether or not he colluded (we think he did), with Putin, such an act is tantamount to outright Russian aggression on America and our “president” makes jokes about it and invites more foreign interference.  Treason? Maybe…

We do not have a favored candidate in the coming election to defeat Trump, but he must be defeated at the ballot box by a wide margin, so that he and his militia-friendly followers can not justify his continued presence in the Oval Office.

We cannot have a president who feels that when there is a confrontation between racists and anti-racists (as in Charlottesville), that there are “good people” on both sides.  Nazis, the Klan, and other fascists can never be called “good.” We do not excuse or tolerate violence from the anti-racist groups, but it is clear that Trump’s refusal to condemn Nazis and Confederate apologists only contributes to racism and acts of violence against people of color and marginalized groups in our country.

His leadership style is chaotic and unstable, and is the opposite of “genius.”  He makes erratic decisions and announcements that contribute to our allies and friends around the world feeling that they cannot depend on America as a stable ally.  This breeds fear among our allies and encourages our foes abroad. We see Putin’s Russia, Kim’s North Korea, and Xi’s China as economic, political, and possibly military opponents on the world stage, and Trump continues to cozy up to these dictators, to the detriment of American security.

Help us spread the word about the negatives of the Trump presidency, and help Make America Safe Again!

Trump Runs a Criminal Enterprise

Evidence that Trump is running a criminal enterprise, not a campaign!

Take a look at this telling re-Tweet from former Washington State GOP Chair Chris Vance. He is now one of the Republicans who is vocally in opposition to Trump and what he is doing to America! The retweet is from the Lincoln Project, which is producing a lot of Anti-Trump media. This follows, of course, Trump’s commutation of his buddy, the convicted felon, Roger Stone.

Trump and Impeachment: Can He Really Be Ousted?

Impeachment

So now we see Trump actually calling for a Senate trial. What? Why is he saying that?

Either he has no clue what is happening to him and to his administration, or he thinks that he has enough votes in the Senate to be exonerated. With this guy, either option is likely.

Does Trump have enough supporters in the Senate to survive a trial? Maybe and maybe not…It takes 67 Senators to convict him in a trial. If it is a public vote, he likely wins, since at least 17 Republicans would have to vote to impeach him. But, if it is a secret vote (which is how Americans vote for president, for instance), then the likelihood of his conviction goes way up.

You see, even those Republicans who truly fear what Trump is doing to our nation, probably fear the ire of “Trump’s Base” even more in the November 2020 election. If the Senate adopts trial rules that allow for a secret ballot, then the chances of an actual conviction become very, very, real!

What do YOU, an anti-Trumpist, think of this scenario? If you live in a state with a GOP Senator, contact them and tell them how they should vote in terms of Senate Impeachment rules (i.e. ask for a secret vote) and that they should vote to convict! ACT NOW!

Teddy Roosevelt Quote From 1918 That Applies to Today

An American’s greatest act of patriotism, is not to serve as yes-men and women to the person in the Oval Office, but to be critical, be outspoken, and to be vocal when we, American citizens by birth or by naturalization, see that the man in the White House is acting against the best interests of our nation or the principles that America is supposed to stand for.

As we listen to our current president lead rallies that call for naturalized American citizens (who first entered the country LEGALLY) be kicked out of the country merely because she disagrees with that president, is clearly an un-American and, indeed, an anti-American sentiment.

One of our wisest presidents, Theodore Roosevelt, made the comment, in reference to his opposition to sitting President Woodrow Wilson, that:

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

Roosevelt made that comment in May, 1918, as he was a frequent critic of his old nemesis, Woodrow Wilson. The two had battled for the presidency in 1912, with Wilson winning in a three-way race. Keep in mind, T.R., as he liked to be called, was in the opposition then. And we were at war, with America having entered World War One the month before Teddy wrote this quote in an editorial.

Indeed, it can be said that an American’s greatest act of patriotism, is not to serve as yes-men and women to the person in the Oval Office, but to be critical, be outspoken, and to be vocal when we, American citizens by birth or by naturalization, see that the man in the White House is acting against the best interests of our nation or the principles that America is supposed to stand for.

Trump’s Racism and Hypocrisy is Seen in Remarks on Jews and Israel

Trump is trying to hide his own race-baiting by using Jewish-Americans and Israel as weapons in his war against Democratic women of color.

Donald Trump’s recent attacks on Democratic Congresswomen of color, while both racist and sexist (not to mention stupid and uninformed), also goes off the tracks as he claims they are anti-Semitic (i.e. hating Jews), and anti-Israel.

Trump is trying to hide his own race-baiting by bringing a significant religious and ethnic American minority group into his arguments against Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, of New York; Rashida Tlaib, of Michigan; Ayanna Pressley, of Massachusetts; and Ilhan Omar, of Minnesota.  Trump has accused them, as a group, and Democrats as a whole, of being racist against Jews, both here in America, and in their policy stances toward Israel, which is the world’s only Jewish-majority nation.

Clearly, Donald Trump, who is NOT Jewish, and seemingly claims he can speak for a group to which he does not belong, did not check in with major American Jewish organizations to find out what they think.  If he had, then he might have been told that using Jewish-Americans and Israel as his shield and sword in his racist attacks would not be appreciated.

In a statement released on July 15, 2019, by the Anti-Defamation  League (ADL), the leading organization  for Jewish rights in America, said, to Trump, basically, stop it, you are just hurting us:

“While ADL has publicly disagreed with these congresswomen on some issues, the president is echoing the racist talking points of white nationalists and cynically using the Jewish people and the state of Israel as a shield to double down on his remarks. Politicizing the widespread, bipartisan support for Israel and throwing around accusations of anti-Semitism is damaging to the security of Israel and the Jewish community. He should lead by example, stop politicizing these issues and stop smearing members of Congress.”

ADL Website at https://www.adl.org/news/press-releases/adl-condemns-president-trumps-racist-tweets-and-his-use-of-israel-and-jews-as-a

Note the bold-faced part, where the ADL calls out Trump for using language from white nationalists (who hate Jews along with non-whites).  This is only a very short step away from calling the President of the United States a white nationalist, -i.e. a racist- in their public renunciation of his comments.  While also stating that the ADL has issues with some of the politicians the Trump is calling out, they are clear in stating that the Jewish people should not be cited by Trump as a means to defend his racist rantings and policies.

Trump, Sex, and The Russians

Truscott reminds us all of Trump’s moral unfitness to be president, while also pointing out the key role played by the Russians in propping him up.

I just read an article by Lucian K. Truscott IV, a noted journalist and a member of a well-known military family.  The article he wrote is intended to remind us all of what a low-life Donald Trump is, even in comparison to Trump’s friend, the child-rapist Jeffrey Epstein.

Truscott’s words remind us of Trump’s decades-long sexual perversions, in particular the infamous, but too easily forgotten Access Hollywood recording of him bragging to Billy Bush about how he serially abuses women sexually.  Check out Truscott’s powerful article here and check out the video further down of Trump and Billy Bush as the infamous comments are made by Trump about how he serially assaults women.

And, lest we forget, a key piece of the tumultuous events of October, 2016, right as word of the Trump Access Hollywood tapes became public, the Russian-supplied wikileaks emails from Hillary Clinton’s server also broke as major news. Trump was able to ride out the storm by constantly haranguing Clinton on the email story. Again, Truscott reminds us all of Trump’s moral unfitness to be president, while also pointing out the key role played by the Russians in propping him up.

Trump’s Twitter War with Paul Ryan and now Mitt Romney

This is typical of Trump. He feels slighted, since he cannot take any kind of criticism, either perceived, or real, and sees a need to lash out, like a young child. In these tweets against Ryan.

Donald Trump continued his weird war with a fellow Republican. In a series of insulting tweets (see below),  Trump denigrated former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, based on comments Ryan is supposed to have made in a new book by Tim Alberta, titled “American Carnage.

In the book, Ryan said, in effect, that he tried to cozy up to Trump to keep an eye on him and try to help him navigate the politics of DC, since Trump arrived with little to no true understanding of how politics work in the real world.

Also, according to the book, Paul Ryan retired from Congress to basically get away from the crazy world of Donald Trump.  That, is certainly understandable!

Trump, of course, is a thin-skinned beast, and, as is his way, he charged headlong into the fray with some insulting tweets about Ryan (read the bottom one first, and then work your way to the top):

This is typical of Trump. He feels slighted, since he cannot take any kind of criticism, either perceived, or real, and sees a need to lash out, like a young child.  In these tweets, Trump insults Ryan, pointing out that Ryan was the vice-presidential candidate when Mitt Romney lost to Obama in 2012.

This then provoked Mitt Romney, who is, quite frankly, a true gentleman, to respond to Trump’s negative assertions:

Notice that Romney takes responsibility for the 2012 loss (in contrast to how Trump NEVER admits to doing anything wrong or losing), and defends Speaker Ryan.  Also, notice that at the bottom, in the first tweet before his defense of Ryan, Mitt Romney congratulates the United States Women’s Soccer Team for their World Cup win.  Trump went out of his way to insult these all-American athletes. Again, contrasting the styles of two top Republican office-holders, makes Donald Trump look more and more like a child throwing a tantrum.

One can only hope that Senator Romney decides to challenge Trump for the Republican nomination in 2020.  Given his name recognition, it is not out of the bounds of reality for him to jump in just prior to the Iowa and New Hampshire caucuses and primaries.  The new book by Alberta, American Carnage, describes the ongoing Republican civil war and the rise of Trump.

Either way, with Donald Trump and his twitter addiction, the 2020 presidential election is going to be an interesting one!

Trump Labor Secretary Acosta Resigns Amid Epstein Scandal

Trump nominating this former federal prosecutor, who at best showed incompetence and at worst, showed favoritism to a powerful rich man

Trump’s Labor Secretary, Alex Acosta, has resigned due to his involvement in the burgeoning Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

Acosta was the prosecutor who, in 2008, arranged the plea deal with Jeffrey Epstein in relation to Epstein’s child sex allegations. Epstein plead guilty to charges of less serious sex crimes and served a mere 13 months in county jail, with work release in daytime. Epstein, being a billionaire financier, was enabled to continue his money-making activities while also serving time.

Given that Epstein is accused of running child sex rings in which he acquired and supplied underage female “companions” for himself and others, the plea deal that Acosta arranged was controversial then, and continues to be so now.

Trump nominating this former federal prosecutor, who at best showed incompetence and at worst, showed favoritism to a powerful rich man with powerful friends (Hey, The Donald did nominate him, after all), to escape true justice for what is really child rape.

Regardless of the why of what happened in South Florida in 2008, Trump showed his typical bad judgement in nominating Acosta for Labor Secretary in the first place. And, the fact that Trump and Epstein were friends, just makes the whole mess look a lot more sordid.

Now we will wait and see who else Trump nominates for this post and what their potential skeletons may be.
